Produced by Rebellious Subjects
Produced in repertory with Henry V, Henry IV was my adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry IV Parts One and Two for performances in Prospect Park. Directing an outdoor performance is an incredible way to learn about Shakespeare, from working without lights and multiple exits to working with an audience that accumulates during the course of the show and will walk away the moment they lose interest. Performed on and around an abandoned bandshell, our Henry IV was a funny and physical folk tale about loyalty, fatherhood and growing up.
